Domestic Violence is the leading cause of injury to women in the United States. It is important to remember that one’s home life can affect their job performance, especially an issue like domestic violence.

As an employer or co-worker of a victim you may find yourself asking….

What should I do?

Acknowledge

Be supportive of your employee during this difficult time. Work with DVSSP counselors to discuss some safety planning techniques.

Respect

Not all employees will feel comfortable approaching management or staff with such a personal issue, so bring the information to them. Visit www.loveisnotabuse.com for more tools for your office. Check out the workplace violence brochure on our Brochure / Tear-off page.

Educate

Schedule a training on domestic violence and DVSSP services for your staff. Contact your local DVSSP branch for more information.
